Likeftw is a web address shortening service which allows you to turn really, really long web addresses, into short, easy to remember url's. Web address shorting is a very useful service, used by many web users today. Ease of use is the main priority, however shortening addresses like email address can prevent spam.
Web address shortening works by taking an existing url, generating a shorter randomised url, then creating a redirection from the shorter url to the original web address - it's way to easy!
What was needed?
We got tired of relying on other web address shortening services - we wanted a more secure service with bigger and better features.
What did we do?
Ta-da! We built our own web address shortening service.
Making url security our biggest issue, we wanted to be able to mask url's, hide email address and give users safety features like previewing a website before being redirected to it. We took the service to the next level by developing an api to give developers direct access to creating shortened url's, as well as a toolbar for everyday users to short url's in one click.
