Astronomical Society of Albury Wodonga
The Astronomical Society of Albury-Wodonga (ASAW) began in 1974. Around a dozen people attended the first meeting which was held at the Scott's School in Albury. Today, ASAW has more than thirty active members, with an impressive array of telescopes and specialized equipment.
The society holds public and private viewing nights as well as the locally renowned Border Stargaze event held annually within the Riverina region of New South Wales.
What was needed?
The ASAW committee approached us with the task of building their website with a small budget and a list of features requiring use of merchant systems. They required a content management system and a booking facility which would allow members and guests to participate in their annual events by registering and paying online.
What did we do?
After creating a fresh and clean design, we implemented our content management system and the basis of the site was done - time to start the booking system. After some careful planning (as there needs to be with online payments), we determine PayPal would be the easiest and most affordable solution.
Making good use of the PayPal api, we quickly integrated payments processing into the booking system which handled everything from accommodation and entry fees, right up to purchasing branded t-shirts for the event.
What did they think?
"Fantastic work! You've managed to get everything we asked for and way under budget. We really appreciate all the work you've done for us" - David Chandler, ASAW Committee
